Support and Community

Updated: Jan 3

“Whether your pregnancy was meticulously planned, medically coaxed, or happened by surprise, one thing is certain—your life will never be the same.”

– Catherine Jones

Welcome again to you all! I am thrilled to have this platform to share about all things parenting, motherhood, doula services, home life, pregnancy, emotional support and so much more!

The last month or so has been insanely busy in the world and in life. I didn’t want to jump onto this brand new platform and start talking about abortion rights and the whole Roe vs. Wade change because I am still reeling from the shock of it all. I took some time off from my social media in order to process the feelings and emotions associated with such a devastating and drastic change to women’s rights. I am still grappling with the words to express my feelings regarding it all but I won’t speak on it directly here. I did just want to acknowledge it because it happened the day after my newsletter launched and I am a woman and a birth worker and it affects and impacts me.

I chose to be a birth worker because I want to support women through all stages of motherhood. I want to give to women the knowledge and wisdom of experience that I missed out on receiving. With my own pregnancies, I was uneducated on some of the basic anatomy and education regarding my changing body, my growing baby, and the process of giving birth and how it would affect both mother and child. As a certified birth and postpartum doula, my guidance and education will provide mothers with a support system within the birth community to guide them through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

Each stage of motherhood has its own challenges and joys to experience and I would like to help mothers set realistic expectations for themselves. I am continuing my education in order to offer lactation consulting, placental encapsulation, childbirth education, and postpartum newborn care classes. I want to be a full spectrum doula that women feel comfortable contacting when they have questions about anything related to becoming a mother and finding their way through motherhood.

I am excited to meet many incredible professionals that offer a variety of services to women within this community. I will be introducing various practitioners on this newsletter which include chiropractors, prenatal yoga instructors, lactation consultants, sleep specialists, support groups, mental health care providers, and pelvic floor specialists. There are so many people within the birth community that share in my desire to support mothers and families as they welcome children earth side!
